May Day: Safety in our industry must be top priority!

Since 2012, Construction Angels has helped more than 10 families throughout the state of Florida. As these families are experiencing grievous times—engendered by preventable death—Construction Angels sweeps in to help assist them with the mourning process by providing immediate financial assistance used to sustain their livelihood.  With that being said, as a member of the construction industry, are you aware of how many construction related fatalities occur nationwide every year?

To avoid such incidences from happening on your jobsites, it is the responsibility of both employer and employee to ensure your personal protection equipment are in working condition and any machines and tools are operating safely before beginning your work day. Implementing safety directors, equipment and machinery safety checks—as well as monthly Safety Meetings and weekly Toolbox Talks—will help raise awareness and alleviate the fatality rates across the United States. As partners in this industry, it is important to emphasize that safety is everyone’s responsibility; therefore, working together to keep safety a top priority will have long-lasting benefits for construction companies, our employees, and their families. Are you willing to accept the challenge in assisting these families by helping lend a hand through their grieving process, providing financial support, and assisting with the quality of life for their children and family? Make a difference in their lives by preserving yours!

For those unfamiliar with the fatality rates in your state, compare the numbers and see if you would like to become involved in raising funds and awareness for our unique organization. For a more detailed account of the 2010-2012 fatalities countrywide, view the statistics provided below:
