Construction and the Holidays – Make the Last Days of 2012 Count!

Suzanne Breistol

It is hard to believe that 2012 is almost over.  This year, we have brought to you 12 newsletters and over one hundred helpful articles written just for the construction industry and those who touch it to help you both professionally and personally.  We are ever so thankful to those of you who write or call us with feedback and your testimonials.  It is exciting to hear how you are connecting for jobs and resources and applying the short reads to help your careers and businesses in our industry.

The construction industry’s percent of the GDP shrunk to 3.4 percent this past year, which is the lowest since 1947.  We at Construction Connection know that our industry is what literally builds America and the world, and without people like you, we would not live, work and play in the great places we do.  Have you ever been 24 hours without heat in a cold winter?  It gives you a new appreciation for those who can make your heating system work again.  I wish I could say that jobs and businesses in our industry were lost just because of the recession, but I can’t, as quite a few were due to poor business practices.

If you own or operate a business in our industry, then Kent’s article in last month’s newsletter, titled “Survival or Success,” is the article for you to read before turning the calendar page to the New Year.

At Construction Connection, we want nothing more than your success, and we are here to help you get there.  No question is a stupid question, except the one not asked.  Take time, also, to click on our partners’ tab as our partners are the ones who help us keep the free services for you.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and our wish to you and yours to make every day count for the remainder of 2012 and beyond!
